What is New in the Industrial Market?

Elo’s Touch Solutions for the Industrial Market at CeBIT:

Elo TouchSystems, the global leader in touch technology and a business of Tyco Electronics Corporation, will unveil new solutions for the industrial market at CeBIT, including:

  • The 1537L touchmonitor with IP65 sealing. The 1537L 15" LCD with AccuTouch 5-wire resistive technology is now available with IP65 sealing (the "IP" or "Ingress Protection” rating is a protection classification for enclosures, and the IP65 rating means that the monitor is protected against dust and water jets). The 1537L touchmonitor has a slim bezel and its compactness and mounting holes ensure fast and easy integration. This monitor offers a low cost of ownership whilst the AccuTouch resistive touch technology delivers an extremely high performance, an excellent combination.

  • Chassis monitors with a remote on-screen display (OSD). An additional standard feature on the Elo family of rear-mount touchmonitors is the remote OSD connector. The remote OSD makes it easier to adjust brightness, contrast, menu language, and more.

  • Additional technologies on the chassis monitors. Elo is introducing additional technologies on the 1537L, 1739L and 1939L (15", 17" and 19" respectively) chassis touchmonitors:

    • AccuTouch 5-wire resistive which is resistant to dust, water and contamination, and can be activated by any stylus

    • SecureTouch, Elo's anti-vandal surface wave technology, has a chemically strengthened vandal-proof screen

    • CarrollTouch infrared technology, for a light touch and excellent sealability

  • Enhanced AccuTouch five-wire resistive technology. Elo’s industry leading AccuTouch 5-resistive technology has been improved. With a new manufacturing process to attach the coversheet, Elo can now provide a higher temperature and humidity performance range for the resistive product line, all while maintaining their renowned tight coversheet fit, and without lowering any other performance specification. The operating temperature specification has been extended to 70°C and operating humidity to 90% RH at max 50°C.

Why Touch?
Touch simplifies the human/machine interface for industrial equipment by enabling the operator's reactions to be natural and intuitive. Elo's touch solutions also help reduce the complexity of operations by eliminating the sometimes cumbersome traditional operator interfaces. They simplify the task and reduce training time for operators while adding more capabilities to the machine itself.

The Benefits of Elo's Touch Solutions for the Industrial Market
Elo's touch technologies are rugged and reliable enough to be used in industrial environments where dust and liquids are prevalent, can be sealed to industrial requirements, and they can be operated by a gloved hand. Elo's reputation for forefront technologies, a wide range of solutions, quality, and long-term reliability ensures it is a preferred touch solution vendor for all industrial users. Importantly, Elo provides a range of touch interfaces that will continue functioning efficiently throughout the lifetime of the machine or system.

Touch Applications in the Industrial Market
Touchscreens may be applied to all aspects in the industry chain. They may be employed for process control, machine control, or a factory automation system. From the clean room of food-processing to the dusty factory floor; from portable applications to complex IPCs, Elo offers the largest selection of touch technologies and touch-enabled monitors and displays to the industrial market.
